Supernova is this weekend! Supernova is THIS weekend! SUPERNOVA IS THIS WEEKEND!

Sadly, this is¬†one of the only times in the¬†year where I am allowed to be a total geek. Well, truth be told, it’s one of the only times I allow my hidden geek out in the world but that’s another story for another time.¬†Getting back to the fabulousness of Supernova, it is THIS weekend! (Did I mention that already?)

And to make the whole Supernova experience even better, my very good friends Kev Webb & Ant Puttee – the creative force behind Dream Raider – will be appearing at Supernova this weekend. But, as an extra special treat for¬†you my¬†dear blog readers, you can get a sneak peek into the Johnny Marsh world through my exclusive interview with Ant Puttee on the We Love YA site. This interview is a must read for anyone who loves Sci-Fi & Fantasy fiction, or who is aiming for publication in the future. So what are you waiting for? Come & check it out! ūüėÄ

{March 7, 2011}   So, what’s new?

So everyone, what’s new? Me? Well … I’ve been studying hard (got another HD on my last assignment), attending writer’s groups, chopping the first four chapters out of my manuscript and doing rewrites on it, and preparing query letters for publishers regarding my Can You See Me?¬†picture book text – all amongst full time work and being a social butterfly. So I guess you can say, it’s been pretty nuts but I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t love it.

Now onto the information side of things. If anyone is interested in YA or Children’s writing, do yourself a favour and get down to the Somerset Literature Festival next week. There are some fabulous opportunities to attend sessions and workshops with some of Australia’s most prolific Children & YA writers. I know I’m definitely attending one of the adult sessions at least one afternoon, I’m just not sure if I will be attending all three days/afternoons & sessions yet but I certainly hope so! For more information on this fabulous¬†festival visit: http://www.somerset.qld.edu.au/celebration/

Also, as a final fundraiser for the Queensland disaster relief appeal, and if you live in South East QLD, you might want to consider attending the Ultimate Girly High Tea at the Sofitel in Brisbane on May 1st. I’m pretty sure I’ll be attending, and I’m quite excited at the prospect of spending an afternoon with some of Australia’s best female authors. To book tickets for the Ultimate Girly High Tea, click on this link: http://writersonrafts.com/¬†A truly amazing opportunity and I hope to see a lot of you there.

Well, that’s about it for today.¬†I’ll be blogging on the We Love YA website soon too, so make sure you keep checking in on it. Til next time, I wish you all the best with your writing adventures. D x
